Worker Access
Detects who enters a controlled area and whether that entry matches an authorisation — a badge event, an escort requirement, an induction record or a permit window.

Access, escort and authorisation checks at controlled entries
What it detects
Harvested from the computer-vision use-case columns of the Q3 industry papers. Every item below is a rule you can switch on, tune per zone and report on.
Restricted-zone entry
Flags entry to a zone by someone the rule does not list, at the moment they cross the threshold.
Tailgating at doors, gates and turnstiles
Identifies a second person following through on one badge event, including at gangways and vehicle gates.
Badge-event and video mismatch
Correlates access-control records with what the camera saw, and surfaces the entries where the two disagree.
Escort compliance for contractors and visitors
Checks that an escorted visitor still has an escort present through the whole route, not only at the door.
Contractor zone breach and route deviation
Detects a contractor working outside the zone their authorisation covers, or taking a route across the site it does not.
Confined-space entry checks
Surfaces unauthorised entry and the presence or absence of the attendant the entry requires.
Control-room, switchgear and key-room access
Applies the same rule to the small high-consequence rooms that badge systems often cover loosely.
Headcount on arrival and departure
Logs how many people entered and left a zone, gate or transfer, usable for reconciliation.
Unauthorised presence in permit and maintenance zones
Flags people in a permit-controlled area who are not on the permit.
Access events by zone, shift and contractor
Aggregates the record so patterns by area, shift and third party are visible.
Where it applies
The sub-sectors below are the ones the Q3 industry papers name for this detection. Each links to the industry hub.
In Oil & Gas
Red zones around drill floors, BOP stacks and valve manifolds. Refinery hazardous units, control rooms and tank farms. Offshore restricted deck zones and helideck routes.
How it works
01
Runs on the cameras you already have
Inference happens at the edge on your existing CCTV and IP streams. No new camera estate, no video leaving site, no cloud round-trip in the detection loop.
02
Thresholds and zones you configure
Draw the zone, set the rule, set the dwell, count and confidence thresholds. Rules differ by area, shift and task, because sites do.
03
Evidence, not just alerts
Every event is logged with camera, zone, timestamp and a clip, so the record is reviewable afterwards and usable in a corrective action.
04
Integrates with what you already run
Events push into your VMS, alerting and reporting stack through Fogsphere Manager, with dashboards broken down by area, shift and crew.
Risk & control objective
The Q3 logistics paper names the failure mode precisely: gate or door events without a matching WMS or badge record, and badge-event/video mismatch. A card reader records that a credential was presented. It does not record how many people walked through, whether the contractor stayed inside the zone the credential covers, or whether the escort was still there sixty seconds later.
The control objective is entry reconciled against authorisation, with the video and the access record read together. What the operator gains is an auto-generated incident package — clip, timestamp, zone, context — for every entry that does not reconcile, and an access record by contractor and shift that can be taken into a third-party review.
